Jean McKenzie and Wade from the corporate office. Jean is the new president of American Girl. She also passed out the free book that they gave to everyone when they walked in.
Luckily we did not have to wait in line since I got interviewed :)

I thought I would have more time to get my dolls ready like I did for the Dallas opening but I did not so I had to hurry and get them look good for their big day!

I love that you can see the store behind the fireplace.

All smiles at 7:45am!

The Mattel camera crew filmed the dolls looking in to the store.

Wow! What a day! I just got back to Dallas from Houston about 15 minutes ago. Overall today was AMAZING and now I have to change my Title because I have 22 dolls now!!!!

1:20pm- We left to Houston
5:05am- Arrived at American Girl and waited by both doors, the mall doors and the revolving door to American Girl
5:30am- The security guards open the doors to the mall  and we have to wait in line to get a ticket to tell us what group we will be in. We were the first ones of the day but the day before they handed out 1300 already.
6:30am- other mothers and daughters got in line with us
7:00am- Workers from American Girl hand out tickets to those in line. All of us got group 14. At this time we were worried that we were not going to go into American Girl till around noon.
7:45am- Meet Penny the Manager of the American Girl store out in the parking lot.
8:30am- American Girl starts setting up for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
9:00am- The ribbon is cut and American Girl is officially open!
9:30am- I got interviewed by American Girl inside the store. I had a microphone and my name was on the slate.I was asked several questions like "Why do you like American Girl?" "What I want to be when I grow up?" "How many dolls do I have?" and "Have you read all the American Girl books?" The director also asked my sisters some questions since they were standing to the side.
10:30am- I bought Caroline
12:00pm- Eat lunch at Chick-fa-la
12:30pm- Leave Memorial City Mall
4:00pm- Arrive back home in Dallas

Getting Ready for Houston

Right now I am getting my dolls for Houston! I was not going to bring all my dolls, but when I told my mom she thought that I should since I have brought them all to all the BIG events that I have gone to. So far I have only got McKenna and Samantha ready since they were already down stairs. We are planning to leave about 3am tomorrow so that we can get to American Girl at about 7am.

Fall Release

I was on facebook and saw that American Girl now has dolls that have cancer! I have seen the other pictures of the dolls with no hair but I really think American Girl is trying to reach all the disabilities because many new items relate to disabilities.

Today I was trying to find out the date of the American Girl Houston opening without any luck, but I did find that the store is trying to find a store manager on the Memorial City Mall website. Hopefully they get someone good that will uphold to American Girl standards!

Stickers

Tonight I went to Michael's to get some items to make a present for my friends and while there my mom and I saw that some of the American Girl stickers were on sale. My mom let me get several to put on a frame this week that will hold pictures from all my American Girl trips. Since I get out of school a lot earlier then my siblings she has been letting me get different things to keep me busy during the week.

Present from LA

Tonight my brother came over after coming back yesterday from California, and he brought me back a gift from the American Girl LA store for my birthday! I got two different shirts for my dolls that say LA on them. I was really excited to get these because for his work he travels to different states and when he was in New York he refused to go because he said that he did not want to make his co workers wait on him (they were only in Manhattan for the night). I was OK with him not going to the New York store because I have gone there three times before and have a shirt from there but I have not been to the LA store but want to really bad! He said it was really cool in there and that California "revoked his man card" for going into the store :)

The black on I also have from when I went to New York last year but I don't have any like the red shirt which is awesome! He also got the that the birthday goodie bag sack that has the sparkly stars on it instead of being plain and a bunch of the stickers that they give out sometimes. I get happy with anything from American Girl! I keep waiting for when they will announce when the Houston one will open!!!!!

My mom told me that when my brother got to the store he called her to ask what I wanted and he kept talk back and forth between her and the sales worker to find where the shirts were and stuff. He asked a bunch of questions like "Do you have anything else that says LA on it?" and she said "No" and my mom told him to say "Well New York at least had hats for adults". He also told her that I had 21 doll and he said her face was shocked. Which reminds me of when my mom placed the reservation for my birthday dinner at American Girl the lady asked how old her daughter was and when my mom said that I was turning 19 she was also shocked. Its sad that I am used to it by now but I don't care! Oh and I also got stuff from Bath and Body Works and a gift card for there from them too.
